$5 Swagbucks giftcard today

Today I was able to squeeze in one more $5 gift card from swagbucks.com before the month ran out. Looking forward to a new year full of more online earnings and freebies. 2011 was a good year, lets make 2012 a GREAT year!

Swagbucks was my #1 earner for the year, what was yours?

If you haven't signed up for swagbucks please check out the SWAGBUCKS tab on the top of the blog for all the info you'll need to get the most out of it!

Winding Down the year..

Hope everyone had a good Christmas, or whatever winter holiday you celebrate! Things were fabulous here and I wasn't feeling the "money crunch" since I was able to use my yearly online earnings, just a smidge under $1,000 for the year. Which goes a way with our large extended families.

Now that I've graduated (Dec 9th-yay!), its job hunting time and more time to get back on the computer for some time to do those online surveys and earning money online. I wanted to start the blog fresh and new for 2012, but I think I would like to keep it one place. Too bad the address says "2011", but it will just have to stay.

For 2012 I resolve to:
*1) loose weight. Its sterotypical but I would like to undo the damage that long hours, late nights, and bad/quick eating habits dd to my body this year.
*2) Blog more, this is both for online earnings and my personal blog. I don't journal tradtoinally and I'd like to get my emotions and experiences down more
*3) Earn at least $1,000 online in 2012, I was VERY close this year
*4) Be more crafty, I used to be an artist but it kept going on the backburner of life

ON TOPIC- of online earning. I'm still catching up on about 500+ missed emails and expired opportunities, but for todays earnings its been a bit slow. Moving down the list of survey sites and emails quickly. Its just one of those things you need to keep up with so you dont drown in surveys. This is supposed to be quick fun, not serious business.

Will you still be reading in 2012?

Its December already?

I can't believe its already December- the 11th no less! This blog has been a great little tracker for my online earnings this year, and brought some new online income and info to many- we reached all 50 states and 13 (and counting) countries!

There were sometimes daily updates, but more often long gaps of time when the blog seemed to die. I was busy finishing up my degree but wanted to share I DID IT! I graduated two days ago with my B.A. in Early Childhood Education from CCU! My license to teach K-3 is currently processing.

Hope everyone is enjoying some holly jolly memories. The blog is still going, although I will get a 2012 address for it and start fresh for the new year. I want to see if I can break 2011's income!

Lets talk Black Friday/Cyber Monday

Black Friday! It is usually a holiday I love to participate in and get crazy spending my money on people I love for the holidays. Together with my husband and brother-in-law I've camped out overnight, gone out early- but never sacraficed a family Thanksgiving dinner. We've never headed out before 10pm Thanksgiving night and usually not until 3-4am on Black Friday. We've gone out with nothing in mind- just the experience and fun together.

Last year I had the two guys with me and it made me feel safe from the shoving and crowding. I still got a little jostled when doors first opened, but nothing much more serious than a nudge you may get at a grocery store on accident.

This year we all stayed home for various reasons. You could tell from news reports ahead of time that things were getting bad for Black Friday. Deals were available earlier and earlier- it became black friday week, not black friday day. People camped out earlier, stores went from early AM openings to just staying open. Looses some of the fun. On facebook I posted we werent going out and many people were dissapointed that they wouldnt see the photo "play-by-play" of the morning we are famous amongst our friends for posting online. I was angry that companys were forcing employees to miss Thanksgiving with their families for black friday set up and working on thanksgiving (when many "doorbuster" deals began). It became to much ugliness.

And lets go into the "doorbuster deals" term. It isnt just cute words. In 2004 my husband and I were at a mall and due to lack of good planning the enterance we were at didn't have a staff member to open the door. It was supposed to be opened at mall open and when people saw customers inside while we were still locked out things got ugly. The double doors to the mall were being banged on and pushed in. The look of terror on the poor salesgirl's face when she had to unlock them was so sad. She got security to help her just in case (smart girl). I was afriad we were going to see her trampled, but she got out of the way quick. It easily could have been a newsreport scene!

I did go out in the afternoon/early evening when deals were gone but the crazy was still there. I just came home, hopped on my computer, and did my shopping online. Easy, quick, and nooone to judge my lack of fashion and makeup for the day.

is black friday dead? It is for me, and I have a feeling it soon will be for many. What do you readers think? Did you go out?

Swagbucks 5for5 promotion!

Swagbucks is having another sign-up bonus week as well as a referral promotion that will last through the end of the year. When you sign up a new account with Swagbucks, and use the code 5for5, you will get an additional 70 Swagbucks added onto the normal 30 you get when you sign up for a total of 100 at sign-up. It only takes 450 to get a $5 Amazon card (my favorite way to use my points), so you’ll already be almost 1/4 of the way to your first reward.

Once you’ve signed up, you can refer other people. During this promotion, you have to get 5 or more new referrals that aren’t related or living at the same address. Once you’ve done that, and each of them gets their first 50 earned (not sign-up bonus) Swagbucks, you’ll get a bonus 500 for referring them.

So, if you’ve been putting off signing up for Swagbucks, this week might be the week to do it. The 5for5 sign-up code is only good through 12 PM Pacific on Monday the 17th of October 2011. The referral bonus is live through the end of the year.

My take on Swagbucks is this: You aren’t going to get rich by using it, but I average $25 amazon card every month! If nothing else, thats $300 and covers Christmas shopping! With very little extra work by me. I just use their search when I have to search for something online.

Nov2- Are you swaggin?

I love swagbucks on a crazy level. Last year I saved up amazon gift cards from swagbucks to surprise my Husband with a kindle. This year I can do my full Christmas shopping thanks to swagbucks...but I'm not the only one!

A blog reader who joined swagbucks via my refferal link has earned over $1,000 in swagbuck amazon giftcards this year! Thats amazing, and she will be able to shop for Christmas and pay for her plane tickets to see family. You go girl!

Its not to late to start earning for holiday shopping, and if you have joined I'd love to hear how you're doing.
I would appreciate if you used my referral link:http://swagbucks.com/refer/LilSarahBug and if you do they give you 30 swagbuck points to start!

In non-swagbucks news Pinecone research has been really going strong with surveys, each one guarantees a $3 check payment and very often a product sent to try! This morning I had four emails from them, all with the possibility of product testing. Check those emails!

august 28- Valued Opinions Cash Out

Valued Opinions would be one of my best online-earners next to swagbucks if i was able to keep up with them right now. This isn't there fault, I'm behind in on my online earning. Thats why this blog exists, its not a "I have all the time in the world to click things online" tale, but a "I have a real life with obligations and a full time job" tale. What can a real person earn online- I for one am trying to find out.

I just cashed out for a $20 gift card at ValuedOpinions.com adding to my August total. I'm not at $100 for the month just yet but I think I might get there~

To sign up go to: ValuedOpinions.com, I get no referral bonus for signups unfortunatly.

Valued Opinions will send you really interesting surveys that are pretty easy/quick and vary a lot in subject. Sometimes I have to watch movie trailers and score them, sometimes its commercials and ads. There have been some product testing opportunities with this company.

You earn and save points by taking surveys to earn:
$25 amazon gift card
$20 blockbuster card
$20 Macys giftcard
$20 Mariot gift card

Weekend Catching up

My updates have been few and far between. Today I'm catching up with miles of emails, and heres how its going:

The first pay of the day is $3 from a Pinecone survey.

Next I got into a Bzzagent campaign for BilJac dog food. My pups seem happy about that. Of course, I have a pug who will eat anything. Really- ANYTHING.

Behind on Blog

whew- teaching has certainly taken my time away. I'm in the classroom from 7:30am-7pm and surveys take a back seat to sleep. :-) But I get it in when I can.

Updates are on the monthly sidebar, I'll skip the bloggy parts for now and just keep up starting tomorrow.

Aug 2- back to school surveys!

I feel the back to school spirit since I've been back in teacher workshops for 2 weeks now, and you see the sales for school supplies everywhere. Along with this theme survey's are popping up with back to school questions and Halloween questions already. Isn't it a bit early for Halloween?

Being in a classroom from 7am-5pm (I do after class tutoring) I don't always get to jump on surveys right away, but their have been some great product test opportunities out there. Hope some of you have been able to jump in on them!

Last month (July) I had excellent online earning, hope I can keep it up for August!

July 29, PineCone Payment

Oh happy mailbox! After a VERY long time with no action from Pinecone I got a check for $3 from them in the mail today after completing a quick survey from them last week. Pinecone pays $3 a survey and sends a check out right away.

July 27- KnowledgePanel Cashout/ Product testing

I have had an awesome month of online income- the best so far this year! Today I was able to cash out another $25 from knowledge panel! Can't wait for this check to happily appear in the mailbox. Knowledge Panel isn't taking any new members right now, but keep checking and if I find out they are recruiting I'll of course post it. A tip for those who are members: keep up on the emails. The faster you answer them the more they will send you! If you take too long your account goes inactive and you will get very few to none.

It's also been a good month for product testing! Through Bzzagent.com I am now also getting the chance to test dr. scholl's inserts made especially for high heels and a all-in-one cleaning system. These products are on their way, so of course the reviews are coming soon as well! Hope everyone's keeping up with all the exciting surveys going around right now. It's hard now that I'm back full time in the classroom but July still rocked my socks!

July 22- Another product test!

Hooray! I get to product test another fun product. This one really emphasized the privacy rules, so I can't even hint at what it is just that something fun is coming in my mailbox. BUT, this product test is looking for more testers so keep an eye on those survey emails- thats how I was able to qualify for this one, and its a goodie!

ALSO

I'm in a bzz campaign where I get a free product and in return I have to tell people about it. Very opposite companies here with the first full of secrecy and the next wanting me to really talk the product up. So what am I being sent to test and talk about? Dr. Schols memory gel shoe inserts. Ahh.. these sound like heaven for my back to school needs! Teaching those kiddos I will be on my feet all day again, so some extra cushioning and pampering are much needed. Stay tuned for that- I bet there could be some coupons to give away to!

July21- InstantCashSweepstakes Pro Membership

Hooray! Today I got notification that my online application to be an instantcashsweepstakes.com pro member was accepted. To apply all I had to do was use my webcam and upload a 1-2 minute introduction of myself through their website. I usually am not a fan of using my online camera, but this was easy squeezy! Once accepted, they put $2.oo instantly into my account which I could cash out. And I did.

Being a pro member means beyond the quick survey/quizzes I will be doing large surveys and maybe product testing through this site for larger payouts.

How much have I earned from this site? About five dollars, but its been super quick and easy. Not one of the large money makers, but its stable. I expect to get some larger amounts rolling in now that I'm a pro member. And pro membership is FREE, you just have to apply.

July19- Instant Cash Sweepstakes- my report

I've been trying InstantCashSweepstakes.com for about a month now to see what all the hype was about.

My final decision: InstantCashSweepstakes.com is okay, not one I strongly suggest if you're in it for big bucks, but worth your few minutes of time daily. I will keep doing this one*.

I've been able to cash out a few times at the $2.00 level, so money is easily made but not in large amounts. I would still reccomend this one, however, because it really takes almost no time at all. While other surveys on online earning sites seem to drag on, you will never spend more than 3 minutes every three hours at this site. You can't- after answering a few rounds of simple questions you get "timed out" for three hours. If you're dedicated and come back often you'll earn more, if you go once a day I'd still say those few pennies here and there ad up.

*extra note: There is an upgraded membership that promises more surveys and more/faster earnings. I haven't tried this yet but will soon.

July 18- the Netflix Hike...

So when I was gone this past week the internet seemed to explode with people mad over Netflix price increases. I'm personally mixed because a 60% increase does sound like a lot, but they still give you more for your buck than alternatives such as Huluplus, Blockbuster, etc.

UNLESS...
ooh, there's an "unless"

Unless you know how to use the internet to your advantage. Which, I'm guessing you do since you've found this informative blog. Redbox is $1 a night for a DVD, but you can search the web and always find a code for a free rental. Same thing for Blockbuster Express DVD kiosks (aka redbox wannabee). In fact, I plan on adding these little gems of codes in the blog when I come across them- but I'm not a huge movie fan so I haven't been going after them lately.

Also, depending on your moral fiber, there are websites out there that you can watch TV and movies that are sometimes "pirating" and sometimes legal. Use at yor own risk, I'm not going there...

July 17: Back from Vacation

We got back from vacation and I have to brag a little that it was WONDERFUL! The husband spoiled me rotten with flying first class, eating at the best resteraunts, and of course 4 full days of Disneyland fun! Vacations like this don't come often (this was our first since our honeymoon 5 years ago) but the best part was- the vacation didn't follow us home! It is all paid off, no vacation debt.

This was achieved with a bit of vacation saving and a lot of online earning. While I've always said online earning isn't something to live off of, with little effort over time I was certainly able to vacation off of it. I'm back and ready to keep the deals/freebies/updates coming. I'd love to do a vacation like this again and maybe next time will be sooner than 5 years away!

July 6, An article for thought..

I read. A LOT. Information is everywhere for free and its good for the soul. I could go on about libraries being free yadda yadda, but I just like to stretch my mind using the internet, its full of useful information (ya gotta take with a grain of salt...)

Today I came across this article (click here) and feel like SOMEONE's been spying on the inner working of my mind. Because I'm "that frugal budget girl" people always think I have some magic answer than can help them as well. If I did I'd be selfishly selling it and making money- now look around and realize my blog is 100% free help. Yupp... no magic secrets here.

What got me is the "don't be manipulated" and "no cable TV is NOT an emergency"... oh the times people try the first, and I result to saying the second. Just a light read to refelctt on for today. Enjoy.

July 5th- SurveySaavy

Because surveysavvy sends a lot, and I qualify for only a rare few I don't focus on it a lot and often loose track of when I can cash out. Because I want to get July's totals jumping I checked in to see what was hiding in there- 7.50 isn't too shabby. Cashed out and glad to start the "Online Earnings I haven't spent at Disneyland" fund.

We leave this weekend! SO excited!

If you'd like to join surveysaavy check out the tab at the top of the blog, its full of info, help, and a link to get you going!

July 4- freebies and product testing

Happy 4th of July to all American readers,

and happy... well its still the 4th of July to anyone else, just without the American celebrations.

If your in America go out today and enjoy all the local freebie and fun to be had. I won't list it here, because the list would go on almost forever. You can find free parades, bbq, shows, entertainment, concerts, etc all over your local downtown.

As for me checking in, just wanted to say I got a new product to test and report back on. Two GIANT bottles of shampoo/conditioner arrived in my mailbox from one surveysite company. As usual, I can't say much about brand and such- but I get to test for 4 weeks and keep any extra. Two washes into it already, I am loving this product for my thin straight hair getting pumped up with some body and volume.

June 16: The forgotten survey site

I was looking through last year's online earning totals and realized I have completely been forgetting one of my biggest money makers- Valued Opinions! I was switching over emails and didn't inform this site that I had a new email so low and behold- my old email was filled with survey opportunities I had been missing out on from them!

This site sends surveys that are quick, pay well, and have a high chance for product testing opportunities! You "cash out" your rewards for amazon gift cards.

Want to join? Leave your email in the comments. All comments are private to the public until I "post" them, and I won't post any private information such as emails. Let's see if I can get those earnings up!

June 14- Contests: do you do them?

I've been struggeling to come up with daily/weekly posts this month, who wants to be in at the computer all day? If you have kids I bet its even harder now that they're home on summer break and need constant attention/feeding/whatever it is kids need.

This past week I've been thinking alot about contests- the hubbby and I have sure won some great ones, but we've entered a lot as well. SOMEONE has to win, right? But what got me thinking was all those "receipt survey/contests" you see around now. Companies want to know what we think so bad that they give customers a 1-800 number or website to go to to tell them how their company is doing. I have the best intentions (dont we all?) of filling these out for a chance to win- but really who hold onto recipets long enough to care. Unless you got bad service, then you are going to care for sure!

I recently kept my receipt in hand from a drive-through experience and came home and went right to the computer to tell the company the many MANY things that went wrong on my visit. I didn't win the "$1000/month" prize, but because of the poor service they sent me an apology email and said they were mailing me coupons for a free adult combo and a kids meal. I wouldn't suggest lying to get free food, but this was a nice way to possibly keep me as a customer. It made me wonder if they "reward" customers for poor service, but if you report a good experience you just get a chance at a large prize.

I'm going to start paying more attention to those receipt surveys. I'd love to win $1000, who wouldn't?

June 8- Where we cut back

If you're trying to get more jingle in your jeans, pinching your pennies, or whatever other cliche money saving/budgeting phrase you can think of- I bet you've found creative ways to cut back.

I have been talking about cutting back a lot this week, it seems, with my close friends. Some are cutting back to save for something, some are cutting back out of desperate need, some are cutting back because its always smart to live frugal. Some step up to "cutting back" challenge easily while some suffer to eat ramen in order to drive a new car and have excessive gadgets.

We're getting by, even in the tough economy, but I think its because we live frugal and cut back. As newlyweds we went without a TV until a relative gave us their old one because they were upgrading to bigger and better. Even now we don't subscribe to any chanels or cable- we get our free 5 channels and barely watch that. Thanks to sites like Hulu.com we aren't missing out on any must-see shows, and we don't care for much television anyway. We also decided to go this summer AC free, to both see how long it would take us to go crazy and to see the difference in our utilities bill.

Back to our cutting back, needs, and wants. In teaching they explain to new teachers to always reflect on the heirarchy of needs, and it plays into adults as well as children. The base of the pyramid needs to be secure first before we can go up. It makes me wonder about my friends who practically starve (food is a basic need) to move up the pyramid to fancy "toys". How do you climb/see the heirarchy of needs in your own life?

Monday, June 6, 2011

June 6- Do they know something I don't?

Sometimes the "theme" of my weekly surveys from all the companies I use get a bit repetitive. For example, around the 4th of July you'll see many surveys mentioning soda, chips, and BBQ. I always expect bug repellent ones because my family does a good deal of camping and my inlaws have a pool- I think we're the only family in Colorado that has their own year-round in-the-ground pool.

But yesterday and today I've received seven- yes seven- surveys about home pregnancy tests and/or birth control. Either Tis' the season to breed... or they know something I don't.

Just thought this was good for a chuckle. What kind of survey themes is everyone else seeing?

June 5- New Tested Site Review/Report: Instant Cash Sweepstakes

As you may have seen alongside the blog, I've been trying out Instant Cash Sweepstakes for some extra cha-ching in my online earnings. While not the fastest way to get money online, I have to say I rather enjoy the simple sight.

Every three hours you can log in and answer a few rounds of three related multiple choice questions. After 5-7 rounds the sight will say you've had enough and to come back after 3 hours. Their exact wording is "you're frying your brain!" I love it- a sight that cares, haha.

By answering questions you may get rewarded a few pennies, its totally random so you never know. But with every round you are rewarded tickets and coins. The tickets are automatically entered for your chances to win a daily $50 prize. The coins you can use to enter yourself in a $2 drawing held every three hours. So lots of little chances for some money.

Every $2 you earn on Instant Cash Sweepstakes can cash out into your paypal. In two weeks I earned $2 from answering the questions and I won one of the $2 prizes using my coins. When I went to redeem the money ($4) was instantly put into my paypal. The small amounts add up, ya know!

I reccomend Instant Cash Sweepstakes for ease of use, quick payouts, and you don't spend a lot of time on it (you couldn't if you tried!). You can also earn money by writing question surveys for them, but I have yet to give this a whirl.

June- summer's here!

Summer is here in Colorado, but I'm sadly hearing tales of snow back home where we grew up in Utah. Along with Summer comes new summer products- so grab those surveys in your emails because new summer products need early testers!

We're pinching our pennies and looking to put some of our online earning aside for our vacation (first one since our honeymoon over 4 years ago). We're going to DISNEYLAND! To say I'm EXCITED is the understatement of the century! I'm a HUGE Disney fan... we even got engaged in Walt Disney World when we were both interns in the park in 2005.

I'd like to collect a nice sum for some Disney shopping this month- so lets get a rockin'!

May 26- SwagBucks CODE Day!!!

Because I'm off to work now I won't be able to post the rest of the days codes. Be sure to check in at sbcodez.com because they will keep you posted on ALL the codes!

Today is Swagbucks mega code day- where many codes will given out throughout the day for everyone to really rack up those swagbucks for prizes and giftcards. They are on code#3 already... so you can expect many, many more! So far it looks like a code is released every 60-90 minutes, and each time the amount increases. Last time swagbucks had a mega code day they ended up giving out a few 50 point codes! wow! So far today (we're on code #5 as I write this) they have been smaller, usually less than 10.

Don't know how to find the codes? I like to use http://sbcodez.com/,a website/blog dedicated to not only telling you if/when a code is out, but how much its worth, where you can find it, what it is- or if its personal "everyone has a different one" code, they will link you right to your own!

Anyone else joining in the swagbucks-a-thon?

*For more about Swagbucks, or to join, click the swagbucks tab on top of this blog!*

May 20- Empty Mailboxes..

Looking at 2010's money making reports (kept in a well-used cheap notebook) I see that last year May was one of my smaller months for earnings. I guess history does repeat itself- I haven't been neglecting the "earned in May" list, I just haven't had anything to report!

I hope you all got the correct link for 20/20 research. I am playing a game of phone-tag with a 20/20 representative currently since I qualify but we haven't been able to reach each other to iron out final details. I hope we get connected because I would LOVE (understatement) to get that $250 added to May. Heck, I would be glad to add that number to any month!

My mailbox (snailmail) has been letting me down recently as well. Usually only a few things a day which consists of bills, ads, or magazines. Where's my freebies?

My husband won a large (four digits) prize in a contest at work and it renewed my love for contests. My philosophy used to be "someone has to win- right?" but then changed to "that someone is never me". I have gone through the same thoughts on the lottery but now my contest philosophy is I have nothing to loose! In the lottery, I do. :-)

May 16- Monday Mornings!

I love Monday mornings because of all the surveys and opportunities waiting in my mailbox from the weekend. My first survey of the day was from Toluna and I qualified to product test a new volumizing shampoo. WOOHOO! THATS the way to start the week. Not to mention, along with a free product to try I get paid for it. Gotta love it, baby!

May 14- Another Newbie to try!

While I can't guarantee success with "newbie" sites I try, I do like to tell you about them so you can try them along with me. It seems when summer pops around each year companies launch their "freebie/earn money/contest" sites. I would think Winter would be better since people are stuck inside more- but summer it is.

A new site I'm trying gives you rewards for taking short surveys about the TV shows you watched the day, or days, before. You select from a list what you watched and they'll ask you questions about the show and the commercials you might have seen during it. Get it wrong? no problem, but no points. Get it right? Score points that can be used for contests, auctions, or save them up to redeem as prizes such as gift cards. I'm into day 3 of trying it out and I gotta say I'm kinda hooked. Sure, I don't get all the questions right but I like that I can choose about what shows I watched, when, and what channel (normal broadcast, on cable, etc) it even includes movies played on Tv!

Wanna join? This one is by email invite only so either leave a comment (they are private because I don't "publish" them) with your email on this post. Or shoot me an email at disneybugs@gmail.com saying you want to get it on the tv watching rewards.

AS A REMINDER: my site is run ad-free because I'm all about not spending money. However, please note the big flashy box on the top right. It's NOT an ad. It is a poll for another newbie site I'm trying out. You take a few simple questions and win tickets/coins to enter for weekly and hourly drawings. You also earn cash to go to paypal.

May 11- Get a Swagbucks heads up!

You know I love Swagbucks- but sometimes racking up those points just doesn't happen as fast as you'd like. Some daily hidden codes and can be tricky. No more!

Friend these guys on facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/SBCodez

They will post and update you AS SOON as new codes become available. They tell you where they are, what they are, when they expire, and how much they are worth. If you see a code that ends in X's such as ThisIsaCodeXXX, those X's mean that each code is individualized and you will have to go get the code yourself to find out what those Xs are. Happily, when these guys post a link they will give you a link that sends you to your own code. EASY!

Also, if you aren't already signed up for Swagbucks please use my referral link:
The more people who sign up under this link, the more opportunities I have to do swagbucks giveaways on my blog. Last time I gave away a $5 amazon giftcard- but each time the prizes increase!

May 10- MailBag Questions

I have received some great questions this week so I figure I should go ahead and answer them:

Why did your site change?
Change is good! Sometimes I just get bored with the color scheme, other times I have adjusted the site because I don't want it to look like a cheap "get rich quick" scam, I want it to look like the cheap "this is what I'm doing, you can to if you want" it is.
The latest change was to make the site more reader-friendly, letting people skip my babble (not that you'd want to miss my precious input) and get right to the good stuff using the top tabs.

Are your totals accurate or do you lie to get more refferals?
I guarantee everything on the site is 100% true to my knowledge. If I was going to lie I'd make up much better totals, believe me! This isn't my get-rich-quick plan, online earnings are neither quick nor making me rich. They just help stretch the budget and when I was first trying to make some extra money online I would have loved if someone had treaded the path a bit before me, giving me ome direction. Since I didn't find that person, I became that person, or I am trying to be. Also, I appreciate every time someone uses a refferal link- but not all the links are refferals. At least half the time I inform you from the goodness of my heart...aw!

How can I contact you?
No, I will not give you my personal cell phone! And don't laugh- I've been asked twice now and even once for my home address.

You can contact me by emailing me directly at Disneybugs@gmail.com, just make sure the subject line isn't something "spam sounding" or I may ignore it thinking you are a virus.
Also you can leave comments on each and any post within the blog, there is a small link at the end of each for comments that I will approve before they are published on the blog (to protect your privacy and keep the site clean).

Lastly, since many of you come from PinchingYourPennies.com (hi!) you can always PM, (private message) me using my username: SarahBug. If you aren't on pinchingyourpennies.com forums you are missing out!

I've downloaded the Swagbucks toolbar but I don't get any points for searches, why?
I get this one a lot, I should have answered it sooner. Whether you download the toolbar or you do swagbucks searches from their own page, getting rewarded for a search on swagbucks is completely random. It used to be a game that my brother-in-law would sneak onto my computer and do crazy searches to see how many, if any, swagbucks he could be rewarded for his sillyness. One time "The purpley pugs are really blue" rewarded him 50 swagbucks! I use my toolbar for every page I need to get to such as "facebook", "blogspot", "yahoo mail" besides the normal actual searches for sites I don't have an address for. Somedays I get a ton of searches rewarded, and sometimes I can go weeks without a single search swagbuck. the best advice I can say is just keep trying. Especially on Fridays- they give away more points more frequently on Friday!

Why do I get duplicate emails from InboxDollars/SendEarnings?
These sites are like clones of one another, they usually do send the same emails to you daily, but you will be credited on each site seperatly. If InboxDollars sends you an email about a new purse company you will get rewarded at InboxDollars for clicking on it. If SendEarnings sends you that same purse email you need to click on it again so SendEarnings will reward you. Get it twice? Read/Look at it twice, click it twice, get rewarded twice!

What is with swagbucks sending me all over the web?
(technically, I combined seven different questions into this one- multitasking!)
Swagbuck's "trusted surveys" will send you to another off-site location to complete a survey of a company working with swagbucks. If you complete these surveys fully swagbucks will reward you within 24 hours. If you have had any trouble not being rewarded you need to contact swagbucks techsupport.

Swagbucks special offers will also be rewarded if fully completed, within 3 days of completion. Make sure you fulfill the requirements- I once put a facebook game on my facebook for points but it wouldn't reward me until I played the game and reached level 12.

Gambit, Gwallet, and TrialPlay are sites that work with Swagbucks to bring you special offers and deals. I like to watch their videos that are sometimes available for 2 swagbucks each. Often their deals require you to buy something which I stay away from. I'm here to earn things for free!

How long will I be waiting for the closed site to open?
Your guess is as good as mine. But I will let you know as soon as I know something.

Why do you post so infrequently?
or
How many hours do you spend on your computer a day?
Somedays are just another day without much excitement to report. Other times I write amazing mind-blowing posts in my head but they just don't get typed out onto the computer. I am a teacher, a full time student, a housewife, and I also reserve the right to lazily sit on the couch in my pajamas and watch old reruns streaming on Netflix. So, as you can see I have a life away from the computer. Sitting at a computer for more than 45 minutes at a time makes my head hurt.

How long have you been online earning?
I started product testing when I was in my freshman year (2002) of college for fun. When I got married in December 2006 I went a little nuts trying to make money online. I was in a new state, new house, didn't know anybody, no job- I had a lot of time to make mistakes and find the gems out there in internet land.

Why isn't this or that link working?
A link isn't working? Thanks for letting me know! Its because I typed something wrong and I want to get it fixed so I'll get on that. I'm usually typing and petting a pug at the same time... often he even tries to type to.

I hope this cleared some things up. If it didn't refer to the "contact me" question!

May 9- Trying a New Site

I got an email asking if I had tried a newer site to earn online money called InstantCash.

Well, nope, I haven't. So now I will be! If you'd like to join up as well CLICK HERE and join me in the testing. What do you think? So far I think the simple surveys are kinda fun- I like that the money can get cashed out at just $2 min, and it goes to your paypal.

May 9- New Look!

You most likely noticed a new look to the blog! I have added quick links on the top so you can have a refference to the best online earning sites I frequent, or learn about me if you so desire. Plus, I've added a "waiting list" for survey site membership that isn't currently open to new members.

Sunday, May 8, 2011

May 8- tidying up the site!

No need to be running off- all the posts are still here for your reading enjoyment. Throughout sunday I will be updating the look of the blog and adding new tabs above the posts... a quicker refference of the best online earning sites!

May 7- get your (text) books via online earnings

When life gets expensive what do you do? Well, if you are me than you double your online earning dedication. Those of you who follow along with my blog here know I am currently a student working towards my teaching degree and man-alive are those textbooks ridiculously expensive! Luckily, I just knocked $150 off my textbook purchase by using amazon gift cards I earned using Swagbucks.

New to Swagbucks? Sign up HERE

or read more to know what its all about HERE

Another way to pay for textbooks- or any books- with online earnings is to sign up for E-rewards and using your earnings for BordersBucks used at Borders Books Stores. I have been testing E-rewards out since January and have earned over $50.oo and am very pleased with them! This one is NEW to my how-to list so get on this survey train now before they close up membership. I don't get any referral bonus on this one- so just head on over to E-rewards.com

May 1- Happy May!

Oh poor little neglected blog!Maybe I need to spend more time dedicated to online earning, but theres just so much you can do, but only so much you should reasonably do, ya know? This will depend on the person and their schedules but I fully admit I go days letting my emails stack up. I miss a lot of high paying stuff this way, but thats like. Like the time all I had to do was return a call to get into a $200 survey study and I just delayed until it was too late.

Since today is Monday my email is flooding over with things they send daily and woulda-sents from Sunday. I also had a happy mailbox with a free sample box of tampax and $20 survey check from Toluna. However, I think I have more free lady items then I will ever use. If anyone comes over and opens my bathroom cupboards you're in for a surprise avalanche of tampons. These little items are great for nosebleeds, and pads can absorb the most amazing spills better than any high quality shamwow or super towel. There are a few websites with other creative uses, but I won't go there. Just never buy these things, ok? The companies are constantly giving them away.

I have good intentions to update on my current product testings, bzz campaigns, etc but it will have to wait for now.

April 25- Product Testing

Just a reminder to do all those surveys that pop up in your inbox, you never know which ones will help you strike gold- or product testing!

From a surveysite I often ignore (hey, it gets busy in the day and sometimes you have to pick and choose which emails to skip) I got the opportunity to test a new instant drink packet. Like those koolaid singles that you pour into a bottle of water. But this isn't koolaid.. its Poweraid and a much nicer berry flavor that will be available soon in stores.
My mailbox was very happy to get a full box to try and report back on. One box hold 12 packets.

April 19- Daily Doings

What do my daily online-earning doings look like? What samples and product testings did I get in the mail today?
Here's today report:

While doing my surveys and click-clicking for online earning I play SwagTV in the background for SwagBucks! Unless, of course, a survey requires me to watch ads, movie trailers, or listen to music!

*Didn't qualify for a big-paying Toluna surveys because it was about home businesses. Another was about business travel. Somedays they fit, and others they just don't.

*Confirmed 2 read emails from SendEarnings and 2 from Inbox Dollars. For these two "twin sites" you open the emails, click the "confirm reading" button and you are credited. Small. quick. But they do add up.

*Watched 5 commercials for payment from Inbox Dollars- loved them today! They were ads for Tim Burton movies coming out on BluRay, and I love Nightmare Before Christmas and Scissorhands!

~*~ post will be updated throughout the day as surveys come in and I'm online. I don't do it in one chunk and neither should you! Enjoy the day! ~*~

MAILBOX ALERT: Another sad day for the mailbox- only one thing in there today and it was a bill. BOO!

Monday, April 18, 2011

April 18- Daily Doings, TWO new product testings

What do my daily online-earning doings look like? What samples and product testings did I get in the mail today?
Here's today report:

While doing my surveys and click-clicking for online earning I play SwagTV in the background for SwagBucks! Unless, of course, a survey requires me to watch ads, movie trailers, or listen to music!

*Didn't catch 3 Toluna surveys in time, tricky lil surveys I got to too late and the surveys were full.

*Confirmed 4 read emails from SendEarnings and 4 from Inbox Dollars. For these two "twin sites" you open the emails, click the "confirm reading" button and you are credited. Small. quick. But they do add up.

*Watched 5 commercials for payment from Inbox Dollars.

*Completed a SurveySavvy survey for $1.00.

*Completed an Esearch survey for $2.50.

*Completed a Mypoints survey for 75 points and qualified to product test powdered drinks

*Completed 4 small surveys from MySurvey

*Completed a Mindfield Studies survey for $3.00 and qualified to product test vanilla flavored wafer cookies

MAILBOX ALERT: Nada, what a sad Monday for a mailbox.

April 16- Toluna Time!

Today I was able to cash out for a $20 check from Toluna. I enjoy Toluna because you frequently get to rate new products, movie trailers, and new food products before they are on grocery store shelves. If you keep up with your emails/email surveys you will find that this site will easily be your biggest chunk of online earning potential.

Toluna sends a few surveys a day so there is always something you'll be able to qualify for and complete for money. However, your earnings don't show up in your account until a survey is closed- sometimes this is within the same day but often it can take a week up to a month for it to show in your account. You will see "reward pending" so you'll know its coming.

I can usually count on at least $20/month from Toluna and some products to try.
If you'd like to try Toluna I can refer you through email only, so please leave your email in the comments. My blog comments are private until I approve them and I delete emails for your privacy.

****New Blog feature:****
I've been wondering exactly what interests people and gets them to this blog, or keeps them here. This blog has been visited from each state in the US (thank you!) and also 17 other countries (wow- who woulda thought?) and still going strong! A lot of people come for the how-to and don't stick around and that's fine. Others come to see how I'm doing, what new sites I've found, etc. But some have asked for more about what I do daily, so as a new feature of the blog (and to show you I'm still alive and going) I'm going to start posting daily tidbits about the surveys of my day.

Today April 16th Survey Report:

Was away from computer all of yesterday -hey a girls gotta have a social life- and this morning came back to about 7 Toluna surveys I had missed out on because I was late and they were filled. No worries, as I've said above- there is ALWAYS a toluna survey ready to jump on!

Completed 2 Toluna surveys one about paper towels and the other about buying dvds and blurays. No product testing opportunities today- but was rewarded with points to redeem later.

Confirmed reading 5 emails each from InboxDollars and Send Earnings. All I had to do was open the emails, click the confirm button and whoosh was done that fast! Its a small bit but they add up! I also took a $1 survey from inbox dollars about movies I've seen trailers for.

Filled out some BzzAgent surveys I have been neglecting. I need to stay on top of these better if I want to product test and "bzz" to others about them! I am currently in a Bzzcampaign for spring cleaning products from Pledge and Scrubbing Bubbles- love the stuff!

Completed a $5.00 survey from Erewards about education.

April 6- Lovin' InBox dollars today!

Awhile back I discussed that I had cashed out $27.56 from InboxDollars .They said they would "process" my check April 1st but I had to stay an active member until then AND once it processed it could take 4-6 weeks to get the check. To this I say "boo", so I was sure surprised when today my check arrived! It might have been here are early as Monday, I hadn't checked the mail at my old house. So today I'm lovin' InboxDollars! The whole "wait to process your check" is silly, they should just say "3-5 weeks" because thats how long it was in total. They've also added "videos for cash" to their website where you watch quick ads relevant to you for cash- its a great addition to the emails and surveys! Would you like to sign up for InboxDollars and have $5 instantly put into your account? Well, now you can by clicking HERE or the photo link below:

April 2- start with a BANG!

I didn't reach my goal of earning $100 online in March, but I did get close. Some of those surveys just didn't pay out in time- which means now thats its April some of March's "spill over" will be showing up. For instance I just got $25 from knowledge panel and I'm already up to another $10 (you can only cash out at $25 at this site). And a new month means a new chance to cash out some swagbucks giftcards- already at $20 worth. Not a bad start to April.

Happy Springs, Everyone!

Thursday, March 31, 2011

March31- Testing "Esearch"

I'm mixed on Esearch.com because their surveys aren't frequent but they do pay. I took one awhile ago and forgot about it until today when I got the email that they put $3.00 into my paypal account. So theres a slight bump-up for March's total. I'd like to get it up to at least $100, but seeing as I only have today to do so I'm not sure we're going to see that happen. In other news I'm sure you've noticed the new blog look. I like to change things up a bit!

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

March 30- $10 MySurvey Cashout

Today I was able to cashout a $10 amazon gift card from MySurvey! This company can be a bit tricky because sometimes a small survey turns into a big earner. For example, the surbey that pushed my total over to redeem was only worth 5points, but then they said from my answers I qualified for a further survey on the topic worth 250 points! Woohoo!

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

March29- Waiting and FoolsDay!

I keep expecting my March total to go soaring up- but a few sites haven't credited my earnings yet (often you don't get credit for a survey until they have reached their maximum amount of responses and close the study). So while this could make March look small, could show for good numbers in earyl April. April 1st is this FRIDAY! Which means April Fools! My husband and I decided before we were married that we wouldn't prank eachother- being the pranksters of our family a battle could break out between us and get ugly. Instead we join forces and prank everyone else. His sister has fallen for the "we're pregnant" every April Fools since we've been married. Someday I'm going to say "the joke got old- you know we aren't pregnant" when we actually are. This year isn't the year (no pink plus signs here), so we'll see if she falls for it again. She will. My other favorite is using a rubberband to hold down the kitchen sink spray nozzle handle. Someone walks up, turns on the sink, and gets sprayed. Never gets old. What are your pranks for the year?

March 23- Love my readers!

Did you know that this blog has now reached all 50 of the United States in America? And also 7 other countries! That's pretty awesome reach for a lil ol' blog about me and my online adventures.

That calls for a new contest!

My sweet Mother-in-law is starting up her own Etsy store making and selling adorable little baby blankets. She's very talented, and I'll be able to report back on the blog about the Etsy website- an online store for homemade goods of all kinds. This contest will be to NAME her online store! Everyone who enters will get a 10% off coupon when the store opens, and the winner will get to be able to get free shipping and free personalized stitching along with their 10% coupon- not to mention the honor of naming a store!

Need some facts to make a creative title? Just ask! But heres the basics: My Mother-in-law sews cuddly blankets for all the children the come into her life (and there are MANY) and she's honorary grandma to gazillions of children. The kiddos call her Grandma Berryman or Sister Berryman.

March 22- SendEarnings Cashout!

I haven't really talked about SendEarnings much on this blog, and decided today was a good day to let this site have some attention! Today I cashed out for a $27.01 check. When you hit $30.00 at SendEarnings you can cash out for a check but they take out $3 as a processing fee, I was 0.01 cent over but they include it in the check. After requesting a check they filled my account with another $3 for "being a valued member", which of course covers the processing fee. They also offered me a $2 survey about my experiences with them so my account was suddenly back to $5 very quickly.

If this sounds familure it is- sendearnings is almost identical to inbox dollars. They send the same emails to click on daily, but different surveys (which is how I got to cashout inboxdollars sooner).

Would you like to sign up for SendEarnings and have $5 instantly put into your account? Well, now you can by clicking HERE or the photo link below:

What IS SendEarnings and what have I said about it previously:
This is another "click the email" one, similar to InboxDollars or Mypoints but it takes a lot longer to earn points. As in mypoints, they will email you advertisements to click on as well as surveys. On this one you cash out at every $30 for a check to be mailed to you, not giftcards.
Extra Note: The checks do come, but I need to be an active member until it does. Which, I will do of course but it does seem extremly innapropriate that they almost seem to say "keep doing things or their could be a slipup with your check".

March20- let's catch up! and a CONTEST!

Has it really been 5 days since I posted? WAY too long since my last post! A mega-bug that wipes out the whole household will do that to a girl.

First off let me tell you about a CONTEST from one of my new favorite blogs, thebobbypin.com, I've found playing around. Its not a frugal-fanatic blog but you'll love the style and fashions this girl puts together and shares on her blog- and she shows fashion high price pieces along with their budget-friendly look-alikes. I'm not fashionable at all, but I've gotten so much inspiration off her blog I just might start to get out of the "chubby girl in ripped jeans and a Tshirt" look. Well, I could go on but what I wanted to talk about was that her blog is having a great CONTEST where you can win pretty Vedette shape wear. There are 5 winners so your odds are fantastic. Enter: Here!

Oh, and if that wasn't enough reasons to love another blog- she's a pug owner and while not a mega staple of her blog, the pug makes adorable appearances (sound familure like another blogger you love? *cough* me *cough*)

Since you're going to venture off to another blog and then prob to your closet to get all fashioned-up... I'll end the post here with a quick preview of whats coming up this week: Etsy and another small contest from me. And a few cold-medicine inspired loopy posts in between! (yeah, we're still out for the megabug)

P.S. Congrats, TheBobbyPin.com, for being the first blog I recommended via this blog. I don't know if thats any kind of honor (especially to a hardcore blog with a gazillion hits) but I think its cool.

blogger out sick

That bug going around? 5 of us in the house caught it. So happy st. Pats... instead of a normal post I bring you a pic of me as a leprechaun taken about 1990. Enjoy laughing at me, and I'll enjoy my strong cold medicine!

March 14- Monday Mailbag

I got a great email question I thought I'd share:

Dear Moneybug2011,
Your site is informative about survey sites that you have had success in, but what sites have you found that have failed the "online earning" test?
-K.P.

Great question! It is hard to judge some sites because often they are fine survey sites but I just don't fit their qualifications for many surveys because of my age, location, career, etc. I will start reporting ALL the sites, good and bad. For now I can tell you surveyspot.com was never successful for me, nor was it successful for any of my "survey friend group" when I started this project three years ago.

Blog Ideas Wanted

Sometimes I just draw a blank for what I should put daily on this blog. Maybe it doesnt even need to be daily? I just dont think a post of "did some surveys online today and ate captain crunch" would amuse people.

so- ideas welcome! Post a comment!

March 8- snowed in!

I'm "snowed in" today! There wasn't a school delay or an official closure, but I decided I didn't want to go and spin my car all the way to the school. And I have a nice warm bed with a hubby still asleep in it. And my dogs. Can't forget my dogs!

Here's a funny for the day: this is a video of my pug snoring. I know, I know.. just watch it. You'll never complain about your spouse's snoring again. For full effect turn volume up 100% and imagine it even LOUDER. Love my little guy: CLICK HERE

P.s. someone said it sounds like the sounds are -ahem- coming from his backside. Nope, thats how he snores and the audio on my phone isn't fancy shmancy.

AND: did you check out yesterdays post to see if you qualitfy for a $200-paying study about shopping?

Monday, March 7, 2011

March 7- New 20/20 study.. pays $200

20/20 is currently conducting a research study regarding Shopping and would like to invite women across the country to participate using an online journal. An online journal is a new, cutting-edge way to conduct market research. It allows you to participate from your home, office, the local coffee shop or any place that has a high speed internet connection.

March 2- Feb wrap-up and onto March!

Feb was a slower month for my online earning. It was a combination of having less time since I went back to teaching, having a shorter month, and having my internet down for awhile due to water heater link that moved my computer station. However, any earning isn't bad. I'm also very close to cashing out on a few sites, so that will reflect nicely in March's totals.

The first contest was a pretty good success, and Congrats again to the winner! More contests to come, so stay tuned.

Feb 28- Contest HOT HOT HOT!

Isn't it funny how my swagbucks contest ENDS tonight... and the last day to get the points is RIGHT NOW which happens to be Swagbucks big 3rd Birthday where you can get kazillions (exageration) of points? I wish I had planned it that way but it was a happy coincidence!

Winner of the contest will be anounced at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, I stop counting points at 11:59 MST.

Right now first place has 412 points. Second has 394. Third has 321.
I chose to make it even more suspensful and not tell you who is where... its still anyones game at this point. I just found a code worth 50 swagbucks... thats enough to ruffle up the scores!

While I have your attention.. did you notice the blog changed a bit? The top banner is "cuter" and I'm trying to get word out about the blog so tell a friend. I also am trying to give it a less "SPAM" feel since "I make money online" already raises a red flag to most people.

Feb 28- SWAGBUCKS 3rd BDAY!

Today is Swagbucks 3rd birthday and there are high-paying codes coming out all day long so keep checking into swagbucks.com, their facebook, their blog- just keep swaggin away today!

Feb 26- Earn Giftcards..on your PHONE!

This one is FUN if you have an andriod phone or an iphone. Hey- if you want a FREE ANDRIOD PHONE see the previous post to see if you qualify for one in a product testing opportunity!

Hubby and I had a good time playing our own version of a scavenger hunt today going around walmart scanning the barcodes of items for points. We did get a few funny looks, and one guy thought I was some kind of "walmart secret official scanner checker person" but its all part of the fun.

If you have an iPhone or Android phone chances are you're already using the GPS feature to "Check in" at various places as a part of Facebook or some other app. CheckPoints is a new FREE mobile app for iPhone Users and Android phone users that gives you prizes for shopping at places like the grocery store and the mall. It's also currently the #1 Lifestyle App in the U.S. on iTunes - Here's how it works:
I heard about CHECKPOINTS today from swagbucks. If you are on swagbucks you can use my refferral link to sign up, but then go into your checkpoints settings and select "swagbucks" as your membership and you'll be gettin' swagbucks as well!

Sign up under my link and get 300 points to start and 2 coins!

The online world is GREAT, can I just say that? I've "met" some wonderful people and one of my bestest online buddies just informed me about this opportunity and said it should go on the blog. Angel, you're ahmazing! She finds the greatest deals (check out the pinchingyourpennies link) and she's a Disney fan- so right there you KNOW she's awesome!

Angel said:
The android phone study I am doing is expanding. You get the phone and plan free
I got in originally through a mysurvey survey

Feb 25- where's all the "normal" posts?

I've been getting a lot of questions lately about where the "normal" blog posts have gone. in other words- people care about the posts and not just the contest (of course the contest is good to!)

Yupp, I was going strong and just fizzled out. No worries- the Friday Freebies is comin' at you later today. And I promise to stay more on top of new posts.

Feb 22- Swagbucks, Panels, and Contest Update

I'm really excited because I just signed on as a member of a new panel. As with most panels, membership is limited and you have to seek them out yourselves and I'm not allowed to say much about what they do or who they are. But I can hint, right? Y- because I like you! What a small world- this is one of my all-time favorite companies so I'm glad to participate!!!

Swagbucks Update:
This morning Swagbucks made yet another change to SwagTV... it seems they just can't make up their minds on how this feature needs to be run. They have done away with auto-play once and for all, so now you have to click each individual video to play it. (They are hammering down on the "set it and forget it" viewers) This Months Contest Update: Coming soon, calculating and adding points right now~

From the Swagbucks Blog Today:
More frequent wins - Instead of winning 5 Swag Bucks for every 20 videos you watch, you'll now earn 3 Swag Bucks for every 10, meaning that you win faster and you get 6 for every 20 you watch. Be aware that every once in a while you may encounter a CAPTCHA after a win, but this is no big since without continuous play you'll actually be in front of your computer when you win. Also, we've increased the total number of wins you can have in a day from 15 to 25, meaning you can still earn 75 every day for watching our SBTV content!

This Months Contest Update: Coming soon, calculating and adding points right now~

Nine people are now in the running and the top 3 currently are:

S.B. =246
J.E. = 244
M.B. = 218

wowsa, someone beat out J.E. for first... but will it last? Stay tuned, and keep on swaggin'

Feb 21- New Survey site I recommend: Mindfield

Today I'd like to introduce you to a new survey site I have been testing out. I don't like recommending survey sites unless I'm sure they are safe, reliable, and worth my (and your) time. I've really been enjoying Mindfield, their surveys are short (10-15 minutes) and pay at least $1 per survey. The cash-out point in low as well: you can cash out at any amount over $5.oo!

One thing about this survey site is that they really make the surveys they send you relevant to your lifestyle. They customize them for seniors, professionals, stay at home moms, teens, and empty-nesters.

If you would like to sign up for MindField surveys please use my referral link: HERE
