June 14- Contests: do you do them?

I've been struggeling to come up with daily/weekly posts this month, who wants to be in at the computer all day? If you have kids I bet its even harder now that they're home on summer break and need constant attention/feeding/whatever it is kids need.

This past week I've been thinking alot about contests- the hubbby and I have sure won some great ones, but we've entered a lot as well. SOMEONE has to win, right? But what got me thinking was all those "receipt survey/contests" you see around now. Companies want to know what we think so bad that they give customers a 1-800 number or website to go to to tell them how their company is doing. I have the best intentions (dont we all?) of filling these out for a chance to win- but really who hold onto recipets long enough to care. Unless you got bad service, then you are going to care for sure!

I recently kept my receipt in hand from a drive-through experience and came home and went right to the computer to tell the company the many MANY things that went wrong on my visit. I didn't win the "$1000/month" prize, but because of the poor service they sent me an apology email and said they were mailing me coupons for a free adult combo and a kids meal. I wouldn't suggest lying to get free food, but this was a nice way to possibly keep me as a customer. It made me wonder if they "reward" customers for poor service, but if you report a good experience you just get a chance at a large prize.

I'm going to start paying more attention to those receipt surveys. I'd love to win $1000, who wouldn't?

  1. I keep all my receipts with the intentions of doing the same, but hardly ever remember to do so before they expire. I'll have to try and remember to do them.

I love to enter to win things online through magazine websites. I figure, hey, someone's gotta win!

I just won some Covergirl makeup, and last year, I won a Vera Wang necklace. :D
